Making the most of your website

A natural part of our service, complementing our super-secure Docsafe client portal, is the development and hosting of websites. Designed for professional firms we have a long-standing track record in delivering websites that present our clients in their very best light.

Our service provides a website that ticks all the boxes. But there are a number of things you can do to make it really sing and work for your business.

Usually a website exists to showcase your organisation, its services and the great people who make it all happen. It’s a good idea to make your website really individual – use good quality photos and include bios that are interesting (with a good balance of human interest information alongside the inevitable job summary). Show your offices off if they’re photogenic too.

If you can inject some personality into the services you provide you’ll be elevating your web copy above most others. Clients know what you offer so tell them how you do it differently – or carefully – or with multi-disciplinary team – or whatever you do that makes your firm special.

Add a blog or news page. We supply a set of news articles every month and you could always add one of your own to talk about a specific law change, case study or to outline an area of your services that you’d like to promote. It’s great for SEO (getting found on Google) and credibility.

Update your content from time to time. It shows your website belongs to a business that’s interested, active and operational. An up to date site reflects the firm keeping pace with changes and the economic landscape.

When you’re putting the words together for each page, make sure you use keywords that reflect your services, geography and any USPs. You can get some help with SEO if you’re unsure. It’s well worth some attention, especially if your practice is in a busy location with other accountants vying for a share of the business in the area.

Talk to us if you’d like some advice on a new website and bear these notes in mind to set your firm apart. Some small changes might mean you rank well and get seen. Your online presence will continue to hold value at every stage of your practice journey, from start up to exit.
